Contest Process
1. Submission collection.
2. Judging panel: Ahonui Works representatives, School educators, Sponsor representatives.
3. Top 5 artwork’s chosen by Judging panel then displayed on Social Media.
4. Social Medial comment submission to choose final winner.
5. Winner Selected and informed.
Display and Recognition
1. Share all contestants artworks. Post top 5 artworks for Final step to winning artwork. Social media (comment below the corresponding number of your favorite art work.)
2. Social Media: Share the winning artwork and contestant submissions.
3. At ribbon ceremony of pump track an unveiling ceremony to take place of artwork.

As we considered names for our pump track, we felt it was essential to draw inspiration from the
rich cultural heritage of the location. We propose naming our pump track after a mo’olelo
specific to the Waim\u0101nalo area. This idea was sparked by my son, who suggested naming a
potential pump track in Kane’ohe \u201cBamboo Track\u201d. We’re eager to build upon this concept by
incorporating educational elements into our pump track design.Involvement with our project
would not only enhance your student\u2019s learning experiences but also provide opportunities for
growth, skill building and community engagement. We envision a sign or plaque on-site that
shares the story behind the name, providing an opportunity to teach our community and visitors
about the mo’olelo and its connection to the location. Involving the keiki in this project will give
them a sense of pride and ownership as they would have a lasting impact on our community.
We envision pump tracks across Hawaii and it would give us an opportunity to share every
mo\u2019olelo around Hawaii.
We believe this approach will not only honor the cultural heritage of Waim\u0101nalo but also
promote awareness and appreciation for Hawaii’s rich storytelling traditions.Mahalo for
